    Remote, work-from-home

    The editorial team at Collider is looking for a remote List Editor to join the team to edit and contribute dynamic list articles to the site.

     

    Collider is the ultimate source for entertainment news. We deliver the biggest, most important industry happenings, and provide deep analysis and sharp commentary through interviews, reviews, and much more. Collider reports on a wide range of topics, including (but not limited to): the Marvel and DC fandoms, anything on streaming related to Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video (and beyond), film festival and awards season news, classic movies and television, and all the latest developments in the world of entertainment.

     

    We require editors who are driven to succeed, have a way with words, and keep up with what's trending in the world of film and television. We're looking for original, informative, and eye-catching articles.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Edit and publish 8-10 articles per day
    • Must be available to work 8-hour shifts on weekdays
    • Edit and publish articles of all types with careful attention to Lists best practices
    • Assist the freelance management team with ideation, greenlighting pitches, and editing new list articles
    • High-quality spelling and grammar on all work
    • Adherence to the Collider style guide
    • Provide feedback to continually improve our writers’ abilities
    • Participate in weekly meetings with notes and analyses

     

    Applicants must be highly motivated and possess the following requirements:

    • 2 years of relevant experience in writing and editing
    • Broad knowledge of TV/Movie history and culture
    • A solid grasp of the English language and the ability to communicate niche ideas to a wide audience
    • Knowledge of AP Style
    • Excellent time management skills
    • Knowledge of SEO best practices
    • Asset: Familiarity with analytics, specifically GA

  • Collider Lead List Editor

    Remote, work-from-home

    Our team is looking for a dedicated remote Lead List Editor to oversee our Lists operation and continue to build it into a self-sustaining initiative. 

     

    Collider is the ultimate source for entertainment news. We deliver the biggest, most important industry happenings, and provide deep analysis and sharp commentary through interviews, reviews, and much more.     Responsibilities: 

     

    • Be responsible for the List Operation publishing 10-20 articles per day
    • Participate in both team and site leadership
      • Liaise with Managing Editor regarding team progress, challenges, and needs
      • Attend weekly Lead Editor meetings
      • Lead weekly List team meetings
      • Provide regular reports on team performance
    • Create and implement coverage plans and processes
      • Ideate new formats, topics, and areas of coverage that will drive traffic using analytics tools; find ways to greatly expand our current coverage
      • Source stories and angles for the writers/editors
      • Propose and implement effective solutions for achieving our output/sessions targets
      • Audit the section to determine what we're doing well, and identify areas that need change or improvement
    • Team management, development, and personnel growth support
      • Liaise with HR and participate in talent acquisition efforts (When needed)
    • Oversee and manage all writers and editors on the List team
      • Ensure team is maintaining output targets and quality expectations; hold team accountable for missed opportunities
      • Guide new editor development and create development tracks for all team members
      • Provide feedback and ensure editors and adhering to Collider's publication standards, and are contributing/editing the necessary amounts
    • Craft headlines, blurbs, and peripheral text to capture new and existing traffic optimize SEO traffic for various avenues of dissemination
    • Edit articles when team progress against targets dictate
    • Track and analyze traffic trends to identify best practices and areas for future growth, especially on weekends

  • Reality TV Writer

    Flexible

    This is a paid freelance, remote position - that means you can work from anywhere, on your own schedule.

     

    Collider is the ultimate source for impactful entertainment news. We deliver the biggest, most important industry happenings and provide deep analysis and sharp commentary through interviews, reviews, and much more. Our editorial team is looking for eager writers to contribute Reality TV content under the leadership of the Senior Reality TV Editor. Please note that this role does not involve video production, animation, or script writing.

    We are looking for general Reality TV enthusiasts, though we are also looking for experts in particular areas:

     

    • Home Reno/Real Estate (Million Dollar Listing LA,, Property Brothers, House Hunters, etc.)
    • Real People (Below Deck, Queer Eye, Dance Moms, etc)
    • Competition shows (The Amazing Race, Survivor, Big Brother, etc.)
    • Relationships (The Bachelor, Love Is Blind, Love Island, etc.)

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Write a minimum of 4 articles weekly under Collider’s house style (following the requisite training)
      • This will include fact checking, formatting, linking, and image sourcing/very basic editing (sizing, brightness, etc.)
    • Pitch a minimum of 3 Reality TV story ideas daily
    • Remain up to date on upcoming releases and rumors
    • Accept and apply any/all feedback received by the editorial team
    • Communicate openly and actively with the editorial team

     

    Requirements

     

    • A passion for the content and a drive to grow within the industry
    • Broad knowledge of Reality TV show, or expert knowledge of the show types listed above
    • Quick learner with strong sense of urgency
    • Excellent command of the English language
    • Ability to write articles free of typos and grammatical errors
    • Comfortable working in an entirely virtual environment

     

    NOTE: Only applications containing a resume and cover letter will be considered. It is essential that you demonstrate your breadth of knowledge of hit Reality TV content in your cover letter.
