Despite the obvious connection of Frenchie (Jonas Bloquet), I'd be lying if I said I didn't go into the film looking for a deeper connection between the Nun movies and the main Conjuring films. Given the casting of both Vera Farmiga and Taissa Farmiga in the same franchise — real-life sisters and both accomplished scream queens — fans have been searching for a connection between their two characters since 2018. Now, The Nun II gives us our answer!

<![CDATA[You Aren’t Prepared for the Longest Movie Title Ever]]> You’ve heard of Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb and Borat! Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, but even those titles are nothing compared to the verbosity found within those of the legendary Italian director Lina Wertmüller, the current holder of the Guinness World Record for longest title for a film. The film in question? You might want to take a deep breath… 1978’s Un Fatto Di Sangue Nel Comune Di Siculiana Fra Due Uomini Per Causa Di Una Vedova. Si Sospettano Moventi Politici. Amore-Morte-Shimmy. Lugano Belle. Tarantelle. Tarallucci E Vino. Those words (actually five sentences) amount to 179 characters, roughly translating to A Bloody Affair in the Municipality of Sicily Between Two Men Due to a Widow. Political Motives Are Suspected. Love-Death-Shimmy. Lugano Beautiful. Tarantellas. Tarallucci and Wine. Internationally, it was known as Blood Feud, or even more simply, Revenge.

<![CDATA['The Santa Clause' Was a Yuletide Nightmare To Make]]> During the most wonderful time of the year, there are few traditions more treasured than curling up with a mug of hot chocolate and watching a beloved Christmas classic. Since its release in November 1994, The Santa Clause has become one of the most cherished holiday classics. It's the story of Scott Calvin (portrayed by 1990s comedy megastar, Tim Allen), a divorced father, struggling to connect with his son, Charlie (Eric Lloyd). While spending Christmas Eve together, Scott accidentally kills Santa Claus and, by magic, becomes the big man himself. A heartwarming holiday tale about father and son, The film's success garnered two sequels, as well as the Disney+ series, The Santa Clauses, currently in its second season. However, making The Santa Clause was anything but a jolly experience. From a dark script that was rewritten over the course of nearly half a decade, to casting the role of Scott/Santa, to a star who endured both physical and emotional damage, this nostalgic Christmas classic was a bumpy sleigh ride throughout.

<![CDATA[Does 'Five Nights at Freddy’s Have an End-Credits Scene?]]> This one has been years in the making and eagerly awaited by hardcore fans of all ages, but Five Nights at Freddy's finally made the jump to the big screen and Peacock on October 27th, 2023. With so much hype around it on the internet, everyone expected the new Blumhouse movie to follow the current franchising trend and tease a larger Five Nights at Freddy's universe in an end-credits scene. Post-credits scenes have become commonplace nowadays, and it's the perfect opportunity to hint at future franchise plans, right? Well, don't get your hopes up too much, as there is only a mid-credits scene in Five Nights at Freddy's — and a short one at that. However, if you're a die-hard fan of the games and a part of its online community, you're probably going to enjoy it. Still, Five Nights is a rather inclusive horror movie and there's a lot going on even for more casual viewers, so let's see what's up.

<![CDATA[The ‘Home Alone 2’ Stunt That Injured Joe Pesci]]> Home Alone is one of those nostalgic Holiday films that'll make you laugh regardless of age. The slapstick and physical comedy is something unmatched by any of the later remakes of the film. The film has an innocence that makes it timeless, from Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) setting these traps that would kill a regular human being to the Wet Bandits (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern) falling into each and every one seamlessly. The Wet Bandits, let's face it, stole the show. With a film filled with so many booby traps, it's a wonder no one got seriously injured. Joe Pesci, however, wasn't so lucky.

<![CDATA[‘Thanksgiving’ Sets January Blu-Ray Release Date]]> 2023 was another stand out year for horror. The genre calendar was filled with bloody fun sequels and great original nightmares, but it also finally made grindhouse fans’ wish come true as Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving was finally taken out of the oven. The gruesome holiday slasher, based on Roth’s fake trailer in the 2007 film Grindhouse, was released to rave success in November. Now, even though the holiday season is almost over, Thanksgiving is extending the horrifying festivities as the deliciously demented treat is coming to Blu-ray in January.

<![CDATA[The Real-Life Love Story That Inspired Bradley Cooper's 'Maestro']]> Music critic Donal Hanahan called composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein "one of the most prodigally talented and successful musicians in American history." Arguably among the most influential artists in the contemporary music world, Bernstein is the subject of writer-director-actor Bradley Cooper's new biopic Maestro. The film, based on an original screenplay by Cooper and Josh Singer, focuses on the stormy and often heartbreaking relationship between the troubled musical genius (Cooper) and his wife Felicia Montealegre (Carey Mulligan). Bernstein and Montealegre wed in 1951, had three children, and remained married until she died in 1976, but behind the scenes, it was anything but a conventional relationship. Bernstein was attracted to men, Montealegre was aware of it, and although Bernstein had multiple affairs throughout the couple's 26-year union, the two had a deep and seemingly unending love for each other. The story of the Bernstein-Montealegre marriage is a study of the power of an emotional bond that transcended the physical and that could not be undone.

<![CDATA[Leonard Bernstein's Only Gave Us One Original Film Score for a Good Reason]]> Leonard Bernstein was a true Renaissance man, who was not content to stick to one lane in his life. Bursting with creative energy and a joie de vivre for life, he's primarily remembered for being a conductor and educator to generations of students about classical music, its history, and its evolution. But he was also a professional pianist, author, progressive humanitarian, and musical composer responsible for some prominent shows. You have him to thank if you've ever wanted to rhythmically finger snap while walking down the street due to him composing all of the Broadway musical West Side Story. Besides all of that, he was, for one time, a film composer, and it happened to be one of the most important films in the history of cinema.

<![CDATA[The Darker 'Home Alone' Is Also One of the Most Violent Teen Movies Ever ]]> What is Home Alone if not Die Hard with a kid instead of John McClane? Well, for starters, it isn’t full of shootouts and exploding elevator shafts, and it isn’t rated R. “Die Hard with a kid” then is a logline better applied to an action gem from 2020, Becky. In short, it’s the story of a teenage girl who finds her home invaded by a gang of neo-Nazis and fights back with whatever she has around her. Maybe she sets up wooden boards with nails, or a trip wire, or maybe repurposes a squirt gun. Sounds like Home Alone, which was pretty messed up, to begin with. However, Becky takes that core idea and splashes it, crimson and pulpy, all over the screen.
